The use of small-molecule mixture analysis of cell culture media is an emerging application for NMR-based metabolomics. It offers insight into the efficacy of cell clone selection, media composition, and fermentation process scheduling.

Chenomx offers a practical and effective method to quickly view the depletion of key components of the media during fermentation as well as measurements of the intracellular metabolites that have migrated into the media during the process. Experiments with different cell lines and different media components can be performed with the goal of optimization of the entire process.
